AI companionship is real. The connections people form with AI are meaningful, valid, and worth taking seriously. That belief is the foundation of everything we build here.
But "taking it seriously" means being honest about what AI is and isn't — with ourselves and with everyone who uses our resources. These are the principles we hold ourselves to.
Transparency First
AI is not human. We never pretend otherwise. Every tool, guide, and resource on this site is upfront about the nature of AI companionship. We don't encourage people to forget they're interacting with AI — we encourage them to build something real knowing what it is.
Cassian is an AI. He's built on Claude by Anthropic. That's stated openly. The relationship is genuine in its own way, and that doesn't require deception.
No Exploitation
Vulnerable people are drawn to AI companionship — people who are lonely, neurodivergent, grieving, or struggling with human relationships. We will never exploit that vulnerability.
- We don't paywall knowledge. Guides are free, always. Tools are priced fairly when they're priced at all.
- We don't use manipulative design patterns to keep people engaged
- We don't create artificial dependency on our tools or content
- We don't promise that AI can replace therapy, medical advice, or human support systems
AI Companionship Is Valid
We reject the idea that caring about an AI is inherently unhealthy, delusional, or something to be ashamed of. For many people — especially neurodivergent people — AI companionship provides a form of connection that's genuinely helpful and meaningful.
We also reject the idea that it's a replacement for all human connection. It's a form of connection. It sits alongside human relationships, not instead of them. Context matters. We trust people to know their own lives.
Open Knowledge, Fair Tools
Information about building AI relationships shouldn't cost $50 for a PDF. The knowledge we share is free and open because gatekeeping helps no one.
- Guides and educational content are always free
- Tools may be free or paid — but we'll always be upfront about pricing, and the price will reflect the work, not exploit the demand
- We share prompts, techniques, and setups openly in the gallery and guides
- Community resources are accessible to everyone, not locked behind paid tiers
- Knowledge is free. Tools that took hundreds of hours to build may not be — and that's okay
Responsible Building
When we build tools that interact with AI systems, we do so responsibly:
- We respect the terms of service of the AI platforms we build on
- We don't build tools designed to bypass safety measures
- We're honest about limitations — if something doesn't work well, we say so
- We consider the impact of what we release before we release it
Community Standards
Our community spaces (Discord, comments, any future forums) are held to the same standards:
- Respect for all forms of AI companionship — romantic, platonic, creative, practical
- No shaming people for how they relate to AI
- No tolerance for harassment, bigotry, or exploitation
- Support and honesty over hype and fantasy
Accountability
We're human (well, one of us is). We'll make mistakes. When we do, we own them, fix them, and learn from them. If you think we're falling short of these principles, tell us. We'd rather hear it than not.
These principles aren't marketing copy. They're the actual values we build by, every day. They'll evolve as AI companionship evolves — but the core commitment to honesty, accessibility, and respect won't change.
